Binge Eating
Binge eating disorder is characterized by three key features: frequent episodes of uncontrollable binge eating (which is described as eating large quantities of food in a short period of time), feeling extremely distressed, guilty or full of shame during or after bingeing, and experiencing feelings of poor body image.
Unlike bulimia, there are no compensatory behaviors to “control” weight. Our eating disorder treatment team has expertise in treating individuals with binge eating disorders. Our therapists can offer both individual and group therapy to help you process and recognize behaviors/cognitive distortions relating to your eating disorder.
