Elizabeth “Lizzie” Skantz | Clinical Intern

Lizzie is a clinical intern currently pursuing her master’s degree in Professional Counseling with a focus on Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Mount Mary University. Prior to pursuing her master’s degree, Lizzie worked in a clinical setting with children diagnosed with ASD. Lizzie strongly resonates with a client-centered approach to counseling, adhering to the belief that the counseling process should be adapted to each individual’s unique challenges and experiences. Lizzie utilizes an intentional integrative approach to therapy to fit each client’s distinct needs, incorporating a variety of techniques and modalities including Person-Centered Therapy, Narrative Therapy, Play Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and Solution-Focused Therapy.

Lizzie is dedicated to helping individuals embrace their identities, confront their fears and challenges, and utilize their strengths. She enjoys working with children, adolescents, and adults. Lizzie is passionate about working with individuals from the LGBTQIA+ community as well as individuals experiencing anxiety, depression, life stressors, self-esteem issues, and adjustment issues. Lizzie strives to provide a non-judgmental, warm, and accepting environment in which individuals can feel safe to be themselves and work towards reaching their full potential.
