Groups Offered
Healthy Habits Group
Healthy Habits Group will confront your “diet mentality” and the concept of “good” and “bad” food. We will focus on mindfulness: increasing awareness of self, environment and emotions. You will learn the necessary tools to improve your relationship with food and cope with those uncomfortable feelings. This group will benefit those who emotionally eat, are frequently on diets, are looking for a new relationship with food, and/or are struggling with making lifestyle changes.
Healthy Habits is a closed 14 session group. Topics will build upon each other so your commitment to attending each session is important. A workbook is used as part of the growth process and will be supplied at your initial group.
Space is limited, please call today to reserve your spot. Call to confirm your space and payment eligibility. If you are not a current client of Red Oak Counseling, an initial assessment is required to determine group readiness. Please note there is an additional fee for this initial assessment.

Healthy Habits Group Testimonials
“Jenny helped me to practice during the week, helped me to set goals related to the material and prompted me to complete exercises and activities that I otherwise wouldn’t have done. The group setting helped me keep a more open mind and challenged me to think differently at times instead of staying in the same “thought rut”. I would encourage others who are struggling to participate in the group, even if they think it will be a review or repeat of previous efforts. Across the weeks, I learned to practice skills and tools that have helped me feel more well.” BL
“The Healthy Habits group was an essential part of my recovery from food addiction, binging, and mindless eating. Not only did this group help me realize that I am in control of my eating, it has also helped me accept who I am today and where I am on this journey. I highly recommend this group to anyone struggling with food addiction and /or mindless eating!” – MKS
“Having a weekly curriculum held me accountable in the time between weekly group sessions and really aided in my staying focused on practicing and learning mindfulness skills. I really enjoyed and appreciated having time with peers with similar struggles. Plus, the leader was incredibly insightful and impactful. Jenny is such a great group leader and I would definitely join more groups led by her in the future.” – JS
“What was most helpful was going through a group setting with others going through the same thing I am and learning from them too.” – MM
