Mary Smits, LCSW, Addiction Specialist, CIR has an innate ability to work with traumatized clients and those struggling with addiction. She
is very effective in helping clients through their healing and recovery processes. She brings to the client an
understanding and insight which serve as a catalyst for personal change and self-acceptance. Mary also works
with the military and their families and currently averages three 30-60 day military rotational assignments
per year. Since her caseload is small, a good referral is someone who can work independently when not in face
to face sessions. Mary's specialties are trauma, grief and loss, couples counseling, men and women's issues,
relationships, addictions and issues related to military deployment and reintegration.
